George Pehanick's Take:
I bought Goldie in June of 2017. I found the car in Houston, Tx. I was looking for a good, clean, straight nicely optioned convertible. I’ve always liked the 67 GTO’s in the monotone color combo’s. I’ve owned two Red-Red, two Mariner Turquoise-Turquoise, two Blue-Blue and of course the extremely rare White-White. I came across the Gold-Gold car and loved the look. What appealed to me was the fact that it had factory Air Conditioning. I love the rarity of classic muscle cars that were ordered with factory Air Conditioning. I had the car inspected by a couple collector friends down in Houston. They went through it and gave it the thumbs up. So I bought it. Shortly after and before I could get it shipped Houston was devastated by Hurricane Harvey. Fortunately Goldie was in a ‘high ground’ neighborhood and was safe and sound. It was still a month or two before I could get her transported. When I got her, I was delighted. She was as represented Clean, straight, rust free, good chrome and stainless. A near perfect interior. After roughly a year I decided she was a keeper and it was worthy of the Restomod expense. I spent a lot of money on her, building her ‘right’. I did change the original Rally II wheels to the simple body colored wheels with the ‘poverty cap’ sleeper look. I love Goldie, I really shouldn’t be selling her.
